As part of CIBC’s rebrand, Juniper Park\TBWA was tasked with the launch advertising campaign. The aim was to launch the bank’s new logo and purpose in a highly emotive way, turning it into a physical “Symbol of Purpose” by making it real, giving it scale and dimension. This symbol becomes a metaphor for how CIBC can help make your ambitions real. The backstory of the girl needed to have grit and authenticity. It was crucial to find a director who could create a film that would captivate audiences. Director Chris Sargent is known for his visual storytelling. For this spot, he partnered with three-time Academy Award-winning cinematographer, Robert Richardson, as well as VFX studio a52, to bring his vision to the screen. Another layer of emotion is built through music. The team discovered the perfect track that complements the visuals: Weyes Blood’s “Movies”, which draws us into another universe as the vocals begin.
