Story | “Bent Water’s beer names and concepts really inspired me. From the start I wanted to do mixed 6/4 packs. You don’t see any other brands doing that. And I loved how the graphics paired with my style. I work in a similar vector style whether it’s a pattern or illustration. It usually starts with a concept. For example: Double Thunder Funk, is a beer born from its little brother “Thunder Funk.” Thunder Funk is one of Bent Water’s strongest beers and boldest can patterns. How could the heavy weight big brother compete. it’s a double IPA, which means 2 things. Double the ingredients, double the ABV. Naturally, I had to double the graphics. This lead me to the concept of two silver back gorillas smashing their heads together. The feeling you get when you drink too much of this beer. G.O.A.T., Tom Brady/Patriots tribute bock beer. I had to tell the story, but couldn’t infringe on any copyrights. It’s also common to show goats on bock beer. So I did a 5 horned (5 horns for the 5 Superbowl’s Tom had won. Had to add a sixth two years later) goat wearing a football helmet.” Design Credits: Agency: HeyLet’sGo!
