Philosophy | At Transport for London, we want to encourage everyone to be more aware and considerate of each other when travelling around the capital. And we thought, who better to do the talking than the people who live here? So from 30th September – 4th October 2013, we brought London poets to the transport network, to add a bit more excitement to everyone’s journeys and also celebrate our city’s thriving poetry community on National Poetry Day. We had Poets in Residence at nine major Tube stations, writing daily messages on the station whiteboards, giving performances in the busking spots, and even writing poems especially for people who stopped to chat. |
