In 2023, amidst a Spanish economic crisis and galloping inflation, Samsung launched "The Frame", its premium television, by exploiting a tax loophole. It seems that works of art benefit from reduced VAT. So the brand offered the same discount to users who created art: if they uploaded a painting or drawing, they paid 11% less. Samsung also extended the project to an art fair, where people could create artworks live. Overall result: sales increased by 55% and site visits by 400%. That’s the art of the deal.
