Climate change overheats GTA engines

You may not know Los Santos, but players of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) visit all the time – often at high speed. Almost a mirror image of Los Angeles, the city in the state of San Andreas even has a Walk of Fame and a Hollywood sign. But a new vision of the city focuses on a different type of acceleration: rapid global warming. Greenpeace and its agency VMLY&R Brazil took over one of the GTA servers to show a version of Los Santos half-underwater, afflicted by heat and drought, and trying to deal with climate refugees. With the help of Influencers on Twitch, Greenpeace wanted to encourage young people to ensure that the world depicted remained virtual.
