Story Ogilvy Honduras continues to economically and socially empower the community of Yoro, with the development of the Sky Fishers in the framework of Heaven Fish´s initiative. “Heaven Fish is more than a campaign, it´s an initiative that keeps growing and gives birth to the Sky Fishers, not only as a formal job but as a way of life”, said Cesar Chinchilla, CCO at Ogilvy Honduras. More than 60% of the population participates in some way in this activity, whether as fish collectors with hammocks, farmers, collaborators in the distribution center, or workers in processing and packaging. Now, thanks to the production of new flavors, as well as branded items, the Sky Fishers will be receiving an income of 80% of the sales generated. “The positive impact on Yoro's economy is already quite noticeable, increasing the economic income of the population and creating new income opportunities for all the families that are now part of this new occupation”, highlighted Edgardo Melgar, Chief Growth Officer at Ogilvy Honduras Heaven Fish not only provided a product, but now new miracle stories are emerging thanks to the Sky Fishers. The impact on the community of Yoro was so profound that the work of Sky Fishing was officially recognized in Honduras. Through these Sky Fishers, we can see the effect of the phenomenon and all that it has created for the population.
Philosophy For the past 100 years, Yoro has witnessed one of the most peculiar natural phenomena in the world: the rain of fish. This miracle led Ogilvy Honduras to develop Heaven Fish, to provide a valuable business opportunity and prosperity in partnership with Regal Springs.
Result Heaven Fish not only provided a product, but now new miracle stories are emerging thanks to the Sky Fishers. The impact on the community of Yoro was so profound that the work of Sky Fishing was officially recognized in Honduras. Through these Sky Fishers, we can see the effect of the phenomenon and all that it has created for the population. Likewise, Heaven Fish contributes to the environment with the production of its packaging made from banana leaves, thus achieving a positive impact on the protection of the ecosystem. These banana leaves are obtained directly from Yoro's plantations and are used by local artisans to make cardboard, which employs local women. Heaven Fish turns this miracle into a steady, predictable and sustainable long-term business, opening new income opportunities for local people and offering them a better future
